With a high-intensity soundtrack, PS3 Madden 10 players will get even more for their gaming dollar. The past few years have seen the soundtracks becoming an integral facet of the games, and Madden is leading the pack. PS3 Madden 10's soundtrack brings the right level of intensity, as well as a great mix of newer and older songs ("older" being a relative term here, of course). One gander at the song lineup should induce and impress: "Can't C Me" by 2Pac, "Heads are Gonna Roll" by Airbourne, "Them Bones" by Alice in Chains, "Created a Monster" by B.o.B, "Revolution" by Bang Camaro, "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys, "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, "Get 'Em Up" by Cypress Hill, "Unsung" by Helmet, "Aces High" by Iron Maiden, "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, "I Am the Bullgod" by Kid Rock, "Reckoning" by Killswitch Engage, "Blind" by Korn, "Divinations" by Mastodon, "Hate Me Now" by Nas featuring Puff Daddy, "Breed" by Nirvana, "Walk" by Pantera, "Shut 'Em Down" by Public Enemy, "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine, "Gaia Bleeds (Make Way for Man)" by Set Your Goals, "Duality" by Slipknot, "Sugar" by System of a Down, "Before I Die" by The Vanity Plan," and "Cheah Beah" by Young Dre The Truth. If that ain't enough to sell you on PS3 Madden 10, maybe a history lesson will help. Yeah, it may be a little much to rave about a current day game at the expense of the earliest football video games. After viewing the earliest football video games, however, you'll understand why PS3 Madden 10 is such an achievement. Obviously, football video games were on every gamer's wish list when the first console games were out there. Trouble was, the video game consoles' abilities weren't as fully realized as gamers' football fantasies, so hardcore gamers had to make do with what was there. In any ads or promos, the manufacturers of this one insisted "all the excitement" of the genuine article. And since it was the only game in town, this is what passed for the gridiron. Those guys on the playing field sure couldn't pass for actual football players. That's just a harsh fact. You can tell by the image that the game wasn't much, but that's only the half of it. Put too many characters on screen at once with these older games, and every character started flashing and flickering. The sound effects were just brutal. No scrolling screen, either. Soon after, this one was given a run for its money with the competition. It certainly was an improvement, with improved graphics, sound, and gameplay. But it was still nothing too impressive.
That one caused a huge sensation upon its arrival to the video game world, and while it set a (slightly) higher standard, this wasn't the foundation for football video games to be built on. More time would pass in order for that to transpire. This next one, coming out for the next generation of game consoles at the end of the 80s, was a sensation, and still beloved today. For a long time, it was the gold standard by which football video games were held. Makes sense that it was so revered by the hardcore gamer - it really was the first true attempt to recreate the NFL. Graphics and sound were vastly improved, so for many years, this was the video football game. Judging by its online revival, people still enjoy it today in small doses. But even that one can't compete with PS3 Madden 10. Take a look at it, after taking in all of those older games.
As you can see, football video games have evolved exponentially since their first appearance. That being said, time to lay off making fun of the older football video games. We've made our point. Those games, while archaic, got us to where we are today, and for that, they deserve their place in the video game hall of fame (though that first one may be better off in "video game hall of shame.") Of course, PS3 Madden 10 has really taken the ball and ran with it, which is cause for serious celebration in the video game world. But it's not just the hardcore gamers that are loving this one - the critics have weighed in, and they give it the thumbs up. Comments like "realistic and enjoyable" pepper each PS3 Madden 10 review. EA Sports has sacked all the competition with PS3 Madden 10, to nobody's surprise. Don't listen to the naysayers and the contrarians - there are few games as great as PS3 Madden 10. Hey, each PlayStation sports video game is EPIC in its own way, but for our money, PS3 Madden 10 is the stuff legends are made of. Hardcore gamers hold this one in the highest of regard. This is the game for the real men, not just the little kids, when you go toe-to-toe for some serious money. PlayStation Madden 10 aficionados now get to face off for big bucks. The victory - and your opponent's cash - will be in your hands, once you know the score in PS3 Madden 10.
